how the internet went from cool to hell

the interwebs

very interesting place isnt it. i mean its a place where we can express our feelings, we can get groo- oh.

there are a lot of stupid people on the internet sadly. i just asked "what does ur second pc run" when we were talking about linux and he starts listing the specs. he also said something about how he bought a rtx 4090 for $2.5k lmao.

well yeah moving on. a lot of us grew up with the internet, or maybe with consoles that support internet and stuff idk like the wii. over the years the internet has evolved rapidly, but my country which should actually have pretty good internet barely even lets me get 150mbps (thanks germany).

a lot of us grew up with the internet (so did i) but recently it has become more like hell not gonna lie. the internet used to be this wild place where you could discover new things and connect with people who shared your interests. now it feels like we're all trapped in bubbles, constantly bombarded with ads, and dodging scammers everywhere...

remember when you could just explore random websites without being tracked across the entire web. or when social media was actually about connecting with friends instead of endless doom scrolling. those were the days.

the downfall

gen alpha, not the whole generation but MOST ones that are born in 2014+ are just cooked i may say. bombadilo crocodilo, tralaleo tralala, and much more are just sillies but skibidi toilet is just too much.

quick story time: one time i was in a restaurant and saw some kid with an ipad under the table, only getting his hand on the table to grab one fry at a time lol. parents didnt even seem to notice or care that their kid was completely disconnected from family dinner.

the end, idk why i wrote this im just bored lol

but seriously though as someone who grew up alongside the internets evolution, its both cool and terrifying to see where its headed. part nostalgia part genuine concern - i guess thats just the reality of watching something you love transform into something you barely recognize.
